Roku just added over 20 new free live TV channels

What I like so much about The Roku Channel is that, despite being free, it still offers a ton of great content, with thousands of free on-demand shows and movies, plus over 500 free live TV channels you can watch anytime. Another thing I really like is how regularly Roku keeps adding new content. And to kick off June, it’s doing exactly that, adding over 20 new free live TV channels (via Cord Cutter News).

Some of the highlights this month include new FIFA channels ahead of the World Cup, as well as popular TV series like The Property Brothers and America’s Got Talent. Here’s the full list of new free channels Roku has added:

  • Alaska State Troopers

How to find these free channels and more on your Roku

You search for channels and favorite them in Roku’s Live TV Guide

If you’re interested in checking out any of the new free channels Roku has just added this month, you can find them in the Live TV Guide within The Roku Channel app on Roku smart TVs and streaming devices like the Roku Streaming Stick Plus and Roku Ultra. You can also access the Live TV Guide directly from the Roku home screen by heading over to the Live TV tab.

The Roku Channel app is also available on Samsung smart TVs and Fire TV devices, in addition to Android and iOS.

Once you’re inside the Live TV Guide, you’ll be able to scroll through all of Roku’s more than 500 free live TV channels. The guide is organized into categories/genres, which you’ll see along the left side of the screen.

To make it easier to find the newly added channels, I recommend using Roku’s recently introduced search feature. You’ll find the search function in the list of categories in the Live TV Guide (as you can see in the image above).

From there, you can type in the name of the channel you’re looking for, or just use voice search, and it should pop up right away.

Additionally, one thing I always like to do whenever I find a channel I really like to watch is favorite it, which you can do by selecting the channel and pressing the star (*) button on your remote. The first option is to “Favorite this channel,” which adds it to the Favorites category in the Live TV Guide so you can easily find it again.

All in all, I give Roku a lot of credit for how often it adds new free content, and it’s nice to see its list of free channels keep expanding month after month. The Roku Channel is the free streaming app I use the most, but if you’re looking for more free streaming options, I’d also highly recommend checking out Pluto TV and Tubi. I use both of them quite often, and they offer thousands more movies and TV shows you can stream for free.
