The Coyote vs. Acme 4K UHD Steelbook sold out in minutes on Walmart but it’s still available here

If you’ve been waiting for a physical release for Coyote vs. Acme, several versions of the movie just went up for sale at major retailers, including Blu-ray, 4K UHD, and a special edition 4K UHD Steelbook. And while both the standard edition Blu-ray and 4K UHD are still available at Walmart, the retail giant sold out of the special edition Steelbook release in mere minutes, perhaps indicating some seriously strong interest in this previously-shelved film.

However, if you weren’t among those who were able to snag this much-anticipated release at Walmart, you’ve got a second shot at Universal-owned specialty physical media store GRUV, which still has all versions of the movie, including the limited-edition Steelbook up for sale here.

Strangely, none of the pre-orders have hit Amazon so far, but if they do, I will update this post with links.

Currently, there is no release date for any of the physical editions of the film, but it seems likely that the disc will ship before the end of the year. Similarly, no bonus features have been released, although director Dave Green said earlier this year that the physical editions of the film will also include some exclusive extras including outtakes that he described as “not PG-rated” when speaking with IGN.

Coyote vs. Acme is also available to preorder on digital

Your best bet if you want to see the movie before it leaves theaters

Coyote vs. Acme is also available to pre-order digitally on several major platforms, including Fandango at Home and Apple TV for $25. Since the film is doing reasonably well in theaters, it seems likely that it will be subject to a 45-day theatrical exclusivity window, which means that these digital editions will be available sometime next month, which will almost certainly beat the physical editions, which will likely be available several weeks later.

Once the dust settles on the digital and physical releases, the film will eventually head to HBO Max. With no date for any of the previous releases its hard to pin down exactly when this might happen, but my guess is it will happen either right before the end of the year or during Q1 2027. Though that may seem pretty far off, if you’re an HBO Max subscriber and don’t mind waiting several months, you will still be able to check out this movie eventually.

Coyote vs Acme has been a hit with critics and audiences

The film is one of the best-reviewed of 2026

Coyote vs. Acme has been a surprise hit at the box office, recently hitting $40 million at the US box office, and over $50 million worldwide. The movie has also been a critical darling, earning a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, beating out other blockbusters this year including The Odyssey, Project Hail Mary and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

The film stars Will Forte as small claims lawyer Kevin Avery, who is hired by the eponymous Coyote to sue Acme for the various defective devices the latter has used to chase the Road Runner over the years. However, Acme isn’t going down without a fight and with hotshot corporate lawyer Buddy Crane (John Cena) representing the mega-corporation, Avery is ready to throw in the towel before the trial even starts. However, with the help of his legal intern and niece Paige (Lana Condor) as well as several familiar Looney Tunes characters, this underdog team might just stand a chance.
