One of Clint Eastwood’s most legendary Westerns is finally free to stream ‣ Diverse Daily

I’ll never forget the first time I watched one of Clint Eastwood’s Westerns. I grew up mainly watching sci-fi and adventure films, so when I saw Eastwood’s iconic performance as the stoic bounty hunter Blondie in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, I instantly became fascinated by the Western genre.

Eastwood starred in plenty of iconic Westerns throughout his career, including A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and Pale Rider. But if there’s one film in particular that stands out to me, it’s one that Eastwood not only starred in but also directed. The film even earned him two Academy Awards in 1993, including Best Picture and Best Director. That film is Unforgiven, one of Eastwood’s most haunting and emotionally powerful Westerns.

Released in 1992, Unforgiven stars Eastwood as William Munny, a retired outlaw drawn back into the fray after accepting a bounty to track down two cowboys who brutally disfigured a woman in Wyoming. Along with his former partner, Ned Logan (Morgan Freeman), and a young gunslinger, Munny travels to a small Wyoming town, where he confronts a ruthless sheriff and his violent past.

What makes Unforgiven even better is its unforgettable supporting cast, including Morgan Freeman as Ned Logan, Richard Harris as English Bob, and Gene Hackman as Sheriff “Little Bill” Daggett. Hackman’s performance was particularly memorable, earning him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor at the 1993 Oscars.

Unforgiven is hands down one of the best Westerns ever made, and if you’re looking for an easy way to watch it, it’s now available to stream for free on this popular service.

Every month, Google typically adds new movies to its free movie library on YouTube, and this month Unforgiven is among them.

Unforgiven is available on YouTube for free until the end of October, so if you’re looking for a great Western for movie night, you’ve got three more weeks to watch it for free.
