Maggie Rogers Says New York Times Reporter Had Girlfriend, Asked Her Out

Maggie Rogers had a bad date in a past life.

That’s what she told Rosalía during the “La Perla” singer’s concert at Madison Square Garden on June 16. In a confession during the performance, the 32-year-old detailed her encounter with the reporter, admitting the date was magical at first.

The Heard It in a Past Life artist recalled being set up with a New York Times journalist by a friend, with him picking her up in a vintage car and driving her around Manhattan. It was gesture that made her start “falling in love a little bit.”

“Suddenly he says, ‘Oh my God. We’re actually really close to the office. Can I take you to the New York Times?’” she told the 33-year-old Catalan pop star. “We go in and he gives me a full empty tour of the building. We make out in the conference room. It’s like a really good time. He drives me home, we make out in the car.”

In fact, the “Alaska” singer was so enamored by the journalist that she told her friends about him the next day. Unfortunately, one of them recognized his name.
