Jonathan Van Ness, Husband Mark Peacock Rehomed Dog for Cat Attack

“Until I got to Liza, and I saw what I knew was immediately a very broken jaw and just started scream-crying [and] howling for Mark,” Van Ness recounted, noting that from there, “we got her to the emergency vet.”

And when the feline headed into surgery, the haircare entrepreneur wasn’t sure if Liza was going to make it.

As Van Ness put it, “Thank God for the people at the Schwartzman Animal Hospital. They performed a literal miracle on her,” adding that since Liza survived, they “weren’t gonna be able to keep George.”

“If you would’ve told me that morning that we were gonna be rehoming George that night, I would’ve said you were crazy,” the 39-year-old continued. “All of the animals got along so well for the most part, and this just came completely out of the blue.”

“Our theory on George is he just needs to be the only dog in the house,” Van Ness said, emphasizing the beloved animal, who is now living with a foster family, is “such a good boy.”
