Hunter Biden Shoots Down Presidential Bid

With both sides of the aisle keeping an eye toward the 2028 presidential election, Hunter Biden isn’t even flirting with the idea of running.

On Friday, the son of President Joe Biden joked on Real Time with Bill Maher that if he ever launches a campaign, it’s probably because he relapsed, having previously been open about his struggles with addiction.

“No, I haven’t [thought of running],” Biden told Maher. “Here’s my thing; if I announce for president, then somebody should check and see if I relapsed.”

After celebrating seven years of sobriety in June, Biden explained, “My own reason for being out there as much as I am, at least from my perspective, [the media] built this platform to beat the hell out of me for about a seven-year period of time. And when the crowd went home, the platform was still there.

“There’s 50 million Americans that are still sick and suffering every day from addiction, and I get to go out there, and I get to speak to them,” he continued. “Even if it’s one person that sends me a message any day, that says, ‘I saw your message, and I didn’t drink today,’ then I’ve done something that I think is incredibly worthy.”

Having long been open about his struggles with addiction, Biden came under intense public scrutiny in 2020 when the New York Post obtained his personal laptop, which contained images and footage of him abusing illegal drugs.
