Diane Keaton's daughter, Dexter, is honoring her mom on Mother's Day — marking the first holiday since her death.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, May 10, Dexter, 30, shared a series of photos of herself and the late actress, who died at age 79 on Oct. 11 after a bacterial pneumonia infection.

The images show the pair on the beach when Dexter was a kid and posing together in a garden. Another captures Keaton giving her daughter a hug and a kiss on her 2021 wedding day.

"First Mother's Day without you," Dexter captioned the post. "I miss you more than words can say. Missing her voice, her hugs, her presence, and everything that made her home 🤍. I love you, Mom 🤍."

While she never wed, Keaton was the proud mother of two kids, Dexter and son Duke, 26, whom she welcomed via adoption in 1996 and 2001, respectively. She adopted both kids when she was in her 50s and raised them on her own.

"I didn't think that I was ever going to be prepared to be a mother," she told Ladies' Home Journal. "Motherhood was not an urge I couldn't resist. It was more like a thought I'd been thinking for a very long time. So I plunged in."

Although the siblings have often stayed out of the spotlight, Dexter and Duke made a rare public appearance to support Keaton at her Hand & Footprint Ceremony at Hollywood's TCL Chinese Theatre in August 2022. When she was asked what it meant to have them there by her side, Keaton replied with one word: "Everything."

The Oscar winner added: "I love them."

Dexter married Jordan White in California on June 12, 2021, seven months after the couple got engaged in November 2020.

Last year, Dexter shared a touching throwback photo of herself dancing with Keaton at her wedding reception. She also honored her mom on what would have been her 80th birthday on Jan. 5.

In an Instagram post, Dexter shared a throwback photo of time spent with her mom and a tattoo she got in her memory. She also showed off her black-and-white, polka-dot manicure — a nod to Keaton's iconic style — on her Instagram Stories. "Happy heavenly birthday, momma," she wrote.

A source previously told PEOPLE that Keaton's health "declined very suddenly, which was heartbreaking for everyone who loved her." Her death "was so unexpected," added the source, "especially for someone with such strength and spirit."

"In her final months, she was surrounded only by her closest family, who chose to keep things very private. Even longtime friends weren't fully aware of what was happening," the source said.
