YouTube Secures Exclusive Coachella Streaming Rights Through 2030

YouTube has made a power move by securing the rights to one of the most-watched music festivals on its platform. Over the last few years, several celebrities have performed at the festival. Doja Cat, Beyoncé, Lana Del Rey, Bad Bunny, BLACKPINK, Frank Ocean, Harry Styles, and many other notable singers and bands have headlined the event. Last year, Lady Gaga took the festival by storm, headlining the event.

While the lineup of artists participating in the event has kept changing over the last decade, what has not changed is its streaming home. And with YouTube’s latest deal, that is not changing anytime soon.

YouTube secured streaming rights to Coachella

YouTube will continue to be the exclusive free streaming destination for Coachella through 2030. For the last 15 years, Coachella’s streaming destination has been YouTube as part of its partnership with festival’s parent company, Goldenvoice. The announcement was made at the Made on YouTube event in New York.

“We’re excited to bring the energy of the desert to millions of music fans around the world,” YouTube CEO Neal Mohan said Wednesday at the company’s “Made on YouTube” event in New York City.

This comes after the last event became a massive success on YouTube. This edition’s broadcast was one of the most-watched Coachella livestreams ever on the platform. The event featured notable artists like Justin Bieber, who made his Coachella debut this year.

This was Justin Bieber’s first concert since his 2022 concert and an invite-only concert earlier in March 2026. Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G also headlined the event. So, understandably, the festival pulled in crowds both at the event and online.

Now, as for YouTube, the company had an incredible event in New York, with many surprises.

YouTube’s launched new features at Made on YouTube” event

YouTube has introduced several new features during the Made on YouTube” event in New York. Apart from new custom features, YouTube has introduced new AI tools on the platform to help its users as well as creators. Another feature launch is allowing to format short videos as micro dramas.

This comes after YouTube Shorts has been a huge success on the platform, with microdrama viewership getting 6.5 billion views in the first half of 2026. The company has gone on to add several more features for podcasts and YouTube Music. So, this is clearly an intriguing turn for the company as it heads into a new era.
