It’s now June, which means two very important things: summer is almost here, and it’s once again time to grab some free Kindle e-books.
How? Every month, Amazon offers free Kindle e-books to Prime members through its First Reads program.
If you’re not familiar with First Reads, it’s one of Prime’s most underrated perks. Each month, you can choose and download one, sometimes two, Kindle e-books from a selection of upcoming titles before they’re officially released. So, not only are you getting up to two free books, but you’re also getting early access and the chance to be among the first to read them.
In my experience, First Reads has been a great way to discover new authors, explore different genres, and expand my Kindle library (and backlog).
As I mentioned, the main catch is that you need a Prime membership to claim the e-books for free. Prime currently costs $15 per month or $139 per year. That said, even if you’re not a Prime member, you can still check out First Reads. However, instead of getting two books for free, you’ll have to pay $2 per book, which is still a pretty good deal.

First Reads will offer new books again on July 1
This June, Amazon is offering 10 Kindle e-books through its First Reads program, covering a wide range of genres, including fantasy, suspense, psychological thrillers, and more.
Here are all 10 books available through First Reads this month:

- The Sky Beneath Her (Book Club Fiction)
- A Voice in the Dark (Police Procedural)
- The Tomorrow Tree (Women’s Fiction)
- The Museum of Second Chances (Contemporary Fiction)
- The Date (Psychological Thriller)
- The Delivery: A Novella (Thriller)
- Happier with You (Book Club Fiction)
- What Remains of You (Suspense)
- A Single Captive Spark (Fantasy)
As a reminder, Prime members can choose and download two of the books above for free this month. If you’re not subscribed to Prime, you can still claim the titles for $2 each.
These books will be available through First Reads until June 30. On July 1, Amazon will refresh the selection with a new batch of titles, giving Prime members another chance to add a couple of free e-books to their Kindle library.
