Scary Movie, the sixth film in the Scary Movie franchise, hit theaters this past weekend, and though critics have largely panned the newest entry in the series (it currently has a 25% Rotten on Rotten Tomatoes), the movie still ruled the box office, garnering the number one spot (and beating big-budget fantasy Masters of the Universe) with a $55 million debut weekend haul, which happens to be a series best.
This newest Scary Movie marks the return of Wayans brothers (Marlon, Shawn, Keenen Ivory and Craig) to the franchise for the first time since 2001’s Scary Movie 2 and also brings back series stars Anna Faris and Regina Hall, who previously bowed out after 2006’s Scary Movie 4. As you might expect, the film spoofs a wide variety of scary movies including Get Out, Weapons, M3GAN, Longlegs, Wednesday, Terrifier, Scream and even recent hit Backrooms.
Though the sixth Scary Movie hasn’t been out for long, distributor Paramount already has a plan for the film’s at-home debut, and if you’re looking forward to seeing this newest entry in the series on the small screen, here’s how you can stream the movie at home as soon as it is released.

Pre-orders for Scary Movie are already available on several major platforms
Currently the release date is TBD, but late July seems likely
While we don’t have a specific at-home streaming date yet, Scary Movie is now available to pre-order digitally on several major platforms, including Apple TV and Fandango at Home for $25. For those who would like a physical and digital copy, pre-orders for the film’s $32 Blu-Ray (which includes a digital copy) are also live on Amazon
Currently, none of these pre-order pages contain a release date, but if the typical 45-day theatrical exclusivity window holds, we’d imagine that digital editions will be available sometime in late July, with the physical release following soon after.
When will Scary Movie be streaming for free on Paramount+?
Before the end of the year
Because Scary Movie is a Paramount release, this movie’s first stop after VOD platforms will be Paramount+. If we assume another 45-day exclusivity window for the film’s digital release, that would make a fall 2026 release for Scary Movie on Paramount+ (potentially as early as September) likely. This is a very quick turnaround time, but Scream 7, released by Paramount earlier this year, followed a similar trajectory, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see that same release strategy repeated for Scary Movie here.
