Witness Isabella Spyridis said the woman was going crazy before the attack.
‘She was yelling. Not really saying anything understandable. It was just kind of a scuffle. No one really heard what she was saying or understood it, but she was running around, crossing the road and going crazy.
‘A male tried to stop her and then he got slashed.’
Jennifer and Alexandra, who were about to leave a nearby bookstore when they heard a woman ‘screaming and yelling’ in front of a car, told reporters ‘it was really scary’ and that they were ‘still in shock’.
‘At first, we just thought she was just like having an argument, but then we saw her raise her arm, holding a knife,’ Jennifer said, before Alexandra suggested the pair ‘run’ away.

‘I said I think we’d better run cos we don’t know where she’s headed,’ Alexandra said.
‘[It looked like] she didn’t know where she was going, so I just said “let’s go to the middle of the bookstore”.’
She also said that a young teenage girl followed them into the shop.
After the initial confrontation, Jennifer said the woman seemed to turn her attention elsewhere.
‘It looked like she was finished with the car and was free to move on to the next thing,’ she said.
‘She started looking in our direction and she wasn’t far away from us.’
Jennifer added that she hope everyone affected by the ordeal was alright.
‘I just hope everyone’s ok, including the lady that wasn’t, maybe she wasn’t 100 per cent well,’ she said.
