Warriors star Kristaps Porzingis has been AWOL for two weeks as he deals with mysterious health issue ahead of new NBA season

The Golden State Warriors say they do not know the whereabouts of star center Kristaps Porzingis, according to the San Francisco Standard.

Reports indicate the team isn’t aware of what Porzingis is ‘dealing with health-wise, or when he might be able to return to the court.’

The center was ruled out of the team’s trip to Hawai’i last week – with general manager Mike Dunleavy saying Porzingis would be out indefinitely. He hasn’t been spotted since.

Porzingis has a habit of missing extensive periods of time as he deals with health issues.

The former New York Knicks star went through similar episodes of absence due to ailments with the Atlanta Hawks and the Boston Celtics. He also did this when the Warriors acquired him at last season’s trade deadline.

While it’s not clear what Porzingis is currently dealing with, he went public with a diagnosis of Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome – or POTS – which is a chronic condition that results in an abnormal increase in heart rate when standing up.

POTS can lead to multiple symptoms in varying severity – including lightheadedness, blurry vision, hart palpitations, weakness and tremors. Other side effects like fatigue, headaches, brain fog, nausea, exercise intolerance, difficulty concentrating, chest pain and shortness of breath have been reported.
