A right-wing political commentator has criticised high school students planning to walk out of class to protest Pauline Hanson, arguing they would be better off in school than out on the street.
A video released by the High School Anti-Capitalists group, one of the main organisers of the protests, urged Queensland students to take part – but contained a glaring grammar error.
‘Students in Queensland are going to walk out on this Thursday to fight against Pauline Hanson,’ an organiser said.
‘If you hate Pauline Hanson, you have to be there to learn how to fight her and her racism.’
Right-wing commentator GoWokeGoBroke questioned whether the teen should be taking part in the protest when he was making grammar errors.

‘This is exactly why they need to stay in school and not go to Pauline Hanson protests.
‘Here’s a quick lesson. You can say, “Students in Queensland are going to walk out this Thursday,” or, “Students in Queensland are going to walk out on Thursday.”

‘But “On this Thursday” makes no grammatical sense. This is why you need to stay in school and not go to protests.’
‘The schooling system in this country and the standards that we have for literacy and numeracy are diabolical,’ she said.
‘Schools have become places of activism, not education.’
Student activists have taken to social media to promote the August 13 rallies, claiming Hanson and One Nation pose a growing threat to migrants, workers and minority groups.
Campaign materials accuse the party of racism and far-right politics, urging young Australians to join protests across the country.
In another video, an organiser said: ‘The vast majority of people in this society are not racist. We don’t support a Nazi coming into power.’
Efstratiou hit back at the comparison, arguing the students’ comments showed a lack of understanding of Nazi Germany.
‘I’m gonna place a large wager that none of those students have ever read anything about Hitler’s Nazi Germany, because if they had, they wouldn’t be calling Pauline Hanson a Nazi,’ she said.

‘And this is the problem with schooling in Australia right now. These kids are so ignorant and uneducated about history that they truly think that calling Pauline Hanson a Nazi is an accurate depiction of what she believes in.’
Efstratiou said anti-Hanson views among many young activists mirrored attitudes she had encountered in higher education.
‘The hate and venom that’s being spewed by them, the vitriol, saying things like, “we need to fight her, we need to cancel her, we hate her,”‘ she said.
‘This is coming from above. This is coming from people, and if you’ve been through the university system, you know what I’m talking about.’
‘The educators there, the tutors, the lecturers, the professors, they all speak like this.’
The planned student walkouts come as One Nation attracts growing political attention, with both supporters and critics closely watching the party’s influence.
