Victorian-Inspired London Homes : lee terrace

British architecture firm Mailen Design draws in some historic influence when creating the Lee Terrace house nestled in south London. The modern home has three storeys and it is at the end of a long garden connected to the home in Greenwich. The front facade has angled brick details to create a modern take on Victorian cornicing.

The studio’s managing director Ben Mailen notes, “The material palette was carefully selected to integrate sensitively with the surrounding architecture whilst maintaining a high level of quality and craftsmanship. By incorporating a courtyard and large expanses of glazing to dual aspects, the design creates a sense of openness and flow, bringing in natural light and extending views beyond the immediate boundaries.”
