Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm got married — not once, but twice — in custom wedding dresses designed by none other than longtime friend and fellow Spice Girl Victoria Beckham.
Mel C, 52, wed Chris Dingwall at a friend’s lakeside property in Cumbria, England, on Saturday, July 18, shortly after a civil ceremony in Dingwall’s native Australia, according to Vogue.
She walked down the aisle in a sleek ivory slip dress crafted by Beckham, also 52, featuring a softly draped neckline and dramatic low-cut open back.
Beckham based that dress’ design on the original lace cami dress Mel C wore during the prior ceremony, because, as she told Vogue, “I loved it so much.”

The longtime friends told the publication that their collaboration for the different wedding attire came about during a casual dinner.
“I was actually having dinner with Melanie and asked her what she was up to,” Beckham recalled. “She very casually told me she was leaving for Australia in two days and getting married!”
“When I asked what she was wearing, she mentioned she had actually ordered one of my dresses but that it didn’t quite fit, and she didn’t have time to get it altered before leaving,” the fashion designer further explained.
“I happened to have that exact dress in my own wardrobe and offered to lend it to her,” she added.
Then, when Beckham said she learned Mel C was planning to have a larger celebration, she immediately offered to make her a custom gown.
“Victoria wanted to make it much more personal to me. She found some gorgeous vintage lace, and everything was really delicately dyed to the perfect shade. It’s very flattering, open at the back,” Mel C explained to Vogue.
She added that a subtle train completed the look. “My daughter was at the first fitting, and she wanted a bit more drama in the length. The line from Scarlet has been, ‘It’s my wedding too!’ “ she said. (Mel C shares her 17-year-old daughter with former partner Thomas Starr.)

Mel C described Beckham’s designs as “the best.”
“There’s just something about her clothes … they have a real simplicity, especially the slip dresses. They’re really feminine, but in a way that feels comfortable, and very me,” she said.
Mel C added that the fittings in London ahead of the ceremony were an emotional experience.
“Victoria was so excited about being able to do this for me, and having her and Scarlet there … every step of the way has been very special,” she recalled. “Plus, I just love her clothes.”

Mel C and Dingwall, an Australian model, first met in November 2023 after connecting on Raya.
The singer, who was previously linked to producer Joe Marshall through 2022, spoke about her decision to start looking for love again during an appearance on Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne’s Life Uncut podcast in November 2025.

While the couple did not publicly confirm their engagement prior to their wedding, Dingwall surprised the singer by asking for her hand in marriage during a trip to Mallorca last July, Vogue reported.
Mel C told the outlet that her wedding overall was “quite low-key. Relaxed, romantic and chic.”
She added: “I wasn’t a girl who grew up dreaming about her dress. I was always just focused on my career — I think even relationships took a backseat for me because I’ve been so driven to do what I love, which is performing. … I’d gotten to the point in my life where I just didn’t think it was going to be a part of my story.”
Mel C was joined on her special day by fellow Spice Girls members Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell-Horner and Melanie “Mel B” Brown.
