US Open organizers have been left red-faced after eagle-eyed tennis fans noticed an embarrassing blunder during Saturday’s women’s singles trophy presentation.

Following the conclusion of the final at Arthur Ashe Stadium, which saw Elena Rybakina dethrone Aryna Sabalenka as US Open champion, the trophy was carried out onto the court atop an illuminated presentation stand.

On the stand was the name of luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co., the official trophy maker for the tournament.

However, viewers at home quickly clocked a mortifying defect: the second ‘F’ and the ‘N’ in ‘TIFFANY & CO.’ were printed incorrectly.

The glaring oversight did not go unnoticed on social media, with fans taking to X to poke fun at the Grand Slam tournament and the world-famous jeweler.

‘Can someone get additional funds to provide Tiffany & Co. with a new platform logo for tomorrow’s men’s trophy presentation?’ one fan joked on X, sharing a close-up snap of the faulty lettering on the blue display stand.

Further photos showed that the other sides of the podium had the company’s name printed correctly, confirming the bizarre blunder on the camera-facing side. 

The gaffe provided a bizarre backdrop to one of the most prestigious moments in tennis, with the trophy presented alongside dignitaries on international television.

Tiffany & Co. has handcrafted the men’s and women’s US Open singles championship trophies since 1987.

It remains to be seen as to whether tournament organizers will repair or replace the stand ahead of Sunday’s men’s singles final.

The mishap came moments after world No. 1 Rybakina produced a clinical performance to dismantle Sabalenka and capture her maiden US Open title.

Rybakina, who was appearing in her first final at Flushing Meadows, relied on her serve and lethal groundstrokes to overcome the reigning champion on Saturday.

The Kazakh star thwarted Sabalenka’s bid for back-to-back crowns in New York, keeping her cool in the crucial moments to secure the third Grand Slam of her career.
