An uninsured BMW driver has admitted killing a woman while she was out walking her dogs.
Laura Sone-Demetrious, 28, was on a pedestrian crossing on the A10 Great Cambridge Road in Enfield, north London, when she was run over on 9 January 2024.
Sedor Olmez, 20, who was behind the wheel of the BMW 3 Series 330e also killed her two dogs during the crash, the Old Bailey heard.
Olmez and co-defendant Roderick Mirzakhanian, 31, were subsequently arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Olmez was also charged with causing death in a vehicle while uninsured.
The pair appeared in the dock, both wearing a black suit jacket over a white shirt and tie, watched by tearful families of Ms Sone-Demetrious – who have previously described her as ‘a great mum’ and ‘caring young lady’ – in the back of the court.
Olmez, who was 17 at the time, admitted causing death by dangerous driving and doing so while uninsured.
But Mirzakhanian was unable to enter pleas today, telling the judge his lawyers have not been instructed nor granted access to prosecution case files.

Judge Lynn Tayton told Mirzakhanian: ‘I am going to adjourn your case to come back to the court on 2 October to allow time for the prosecution to give your lawyers access to the digital files.
‘Your lawyers are then to advise you so the charge can be put to you on 2 October, so you can decide what you want to do and enter pleas on that date.
‘The expectation is you will have liaised with your lawyers and you will be in a position to enter your pleas.’
Judge Tayton told Olmez: ‘You pleaded guilty to serious offences, I have indicated that the guidelines indicate a custodial sentence, and I make that clear.
‘I shall grant you bail in the meantime and you are disqualified from driving.
‘I shall adjourn sentencing to the beginning of November,’ but added it will depend on Mirzakhanian’s position when he next appears.
Mirzakhanian is due to enter pleas on 2 October.
Olmez admitted causing death by dangerous driving and causing death in a vehicle while uninsured.
He has no previous convictions and will be sentenced in November.
Ms Sone-Demetrious’s grieving sister Gina previously described her as ‘an angel in disguise’ and ‘a very bubbly, outgoing and caring young lady’.
Gina added: ‘She danced with her dogs and even spoke to them as if they were human.
‘She was loved by many, she was a family lady. It’s just very tragic how she passed.’
And after Ms Sone-Demetrious’s death, her father Peter wrote on Facebook about the tragedy being ‘the most unhappy day of my life’.
Ms Sone-Demetrious was also described by cousin Chris Chaplin as ‘a great mum and cousin’.
