Tyson Fury has suggested he will try and persuade United States president Donald Trump to join him for his ringwalk when he takes on Anthony Joshua in December.
Fury met the president at the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House in June, joining Trump, First Lady Melania Trump and a host of MAGA royalty on the South Lawn.
He raised eyebrows with a cap, which featured a particularly bold message of support for Trump. ‘Donald Trump for Prime Minister’, it read alongside an embroidered British flag.
The slogan was a nod to Trump’s signature red ‘Make America Great Again’ caps, which he sported throughout his election campaigns.
It was there Fury said he was keen to take on Joshua in the near future – and that fight has come to fruition, and will take place on December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
And Fury is keen to have his friend there. He said: ‘I’ll definitely make that offer to my old buddy, old pal, and we’ll see if he’s available.
‘Probably unlikely because of the situation he’s in at the moment, being the President of the United States.’

Though Fury may want Trump in his corner, Joshua will literally have a Fury in his, with Tyson’s uncle, Peter, part of Joshua’s group of trainers.
Tyson shrugged off suggestions that Joshua would have the inside track claiming that he hadn’t spoken to him in years, but his father John was even more emphatic in discussion with Playbook Boxing, hinting at a betrayal from his brother which meant that he will ‘never speak to him as long as (he) lives’.
‘If he was to do that (talk to Joshua) in any way, shape or form, that would make him the lowest form of human being,’ John stressed. ‘Even thinking about doing it, that makes him the biggest dog, the biggest untrustworthy dog of all time.
‘If he’s going to start giving phone calls and advice, meeting in secret, giving him secret sessions, he’s a f***ing cockroach.
‘The only advice he could have wanted is on Tyson, isn’t it? There is no smoke without fire.’
As if speaking directly to Peter, he finished: ‘Son, give your head a wobble. Don’t sell your soul to the devil for a fiver.’
Peter shared on social media that he had spoken to AJ ‘two months ago’ about ‘advice on his skill set’, calling the Londoner ‘a really nice guy’.
‘After his fight anything he needs from me (would) be a pleasure. He has a great team around him (including) Team Usyk.’
