Two teenage girls ‘raped on British beach’ as man in his 30s is arrested and police launch hunt for second suspect



Police have launched a manhunt after two teenage girls were allegedly raped on a British beach. 

Norfolk Police were called to South Beach Parade, Great Yarmouth, on May 16 following reports that two girls had been raped. 

A man in his 30s was arrested in Northamptonshire the following day on suspicion of rape.

He was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where he remains. 

Police are still searching for a second suspect who has been described as a white man with short dark hair, dark facial hair and aged in his 30s or 40s.

He is also believed to have been wearing blue jeans and a dark green jacket with a white stripe on both sleeves.  

Chief Inspector Nick Paling, district commander for Great Yarmouth, said: ‘We recognise how shocking and distressing these incidents are for the victims, their families, and the wider community. 

‘Specialist officers have been deployed to support both girls as we work through this investigation.

‘There will be an increased police presence in the area, with officers carrying out reassurance patrols. Please do approach them if you have any concerns or information.’

Officer would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any relevant information to aid this investigation.
