A man in his 20s has been arrested after two girls were sexually assaulted in a city centre attack.

The individual reportedly touched the girls on the waist and bottom near Gloucester train station at around 6.45pm on September 27.

Following the attack, officers searched the surrounding area and located one girl but the second girl fled the scene.

Gloucester Constabulary are now working to identify the second victim and investigate what happened.

A man in his 20s, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on a female in connection to the incident.

He was released on bail after a police interview, under the conditions that he does not enter the city centre and attends Bearland Police Station on Friday, October 2.

Officers have requested that the victim who fled the scene, or anyone with any information, contact the police so that a welfare check can be made and enquiries can progress.

Gloucester Constabulary has been approached for comment.
