The search for a Texas teen took a tragic turn as a body was found after he was swept away in strong currents while swimming with his girlfriend.
Noah Dominguez, 16, was pulled underwater on Friday afternoon at Surfside Beach prompting a frantic search for the teen.
The Surfside Beach Police Department were called to the beach about a swimmer in distress at around 1.30pm near Blue Water Highway, Chief Philip Hester told Fox News.
At around 2pm on Sunday, a body believed to be Dominguez was recovered, Texas Equusearch said.
‘This is a devastating and tragic loss. Our hearts are heavy as we extend our deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers to Noah’s family, friends and everyone who loved him,’ the non-profit said in a statement.
According to police, the waters were rough during the search for the teen and it quickly became a recovery mission instead of a rescue.
Noah’s cousin, Haley Waguespack, wrote on Facebook that the teen’s life was ‘tragically robbed from him.’

Leyah Enouchs, a family member, described Noah as ‘such a young, sweet boy who deserved to be loved, protected, and given the opportunity to grow up and experience life’
Waguespack said that Noah had been dealt an ‘incredibly hard life full of abuse, neglect and torment under the care of his mother and… little to no help through the justice system/child protective services.’
Noah’s mother, Tracee Marlow, is currently incarcerated.
‘My family and I did everything we could to help Noah be a kid for once after enduring so much abuse and neglect his whole childhood,’ she wrote.
‘Noah could be alive today if he was given proper guidance from the one person he expected it from the most. Condolences to my family, we did everything we could to save my poor baby cousin from this horrendous situation. I am furious and I will fight for Noah’s justice until it is served.’
Leyah Enouchs, another family member, described Noah as ‘such a young, sweet boy who deserved to be loved, protected, and given the opportunity to grow up and experience life.’
‘It hurts knowing that he had so much life ahead of him and so many years he deserved to live.
‘From the memories we shared as kids, the family gatherings, Christmases, and all the moments we got to experience together, it’s hard to understand how something so tragic could happen. He was innocent, and he deserved so much better,’ Enouchs said.

‘My heart breaks for Noah and everything he endured. I wish things could have been different for him. He deserved the chance to grow up, find happiness, make memories, and have a beautiful future ahead of him.’
Joanne Dominguez, another family member, wrote that her soul is ‘sad, devastated with grief.’
‘We always talked about him wanting me to come see him graduate, he wanted to come see me…we always talked about his dad…oh my God now he’s with him in heaven…I love you so much,’ she said.
