Terrifying video shows women chased through the streets by man released from prison NINE times in allegedly unprovoked attacks

A man in North Carolina has been charged with assault after he was seen in shocking viral footage allegedly chasing and assaulting women through the streets of Charlotte.

Di-Quan Hunt, 32, was arrested on Thursday after footage showed him allegedly chasing down women and harassing them in the street, as well as punching and slapping a woman in one attack.

Hunt’s arrest followed at least nine previous arrests in recent years, including assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats, assault and violating domestic violence orders, WBTV reported.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Hunt was charged with assault on Thursday at around 7.30pm after multiple videos of assault and harassment, including an alleged assault reported on July 30.

The video saw a woman lying on the sidewalk as she was repeatedly punched nearly unconscious off East Boulevard in Charlotte.

In the footage, a man was seen walking down the street as the victim walked the opposite direction. The video began with the suspect fuming, ‘that July 21st is the real issue n****.’

As the woman walked closer, the suspect struck her and she fell to the floor. He was then heard yelling, ‘You still talking?,’ before he struck her face again and continued screaming.

According to WBTV, the suspect ran away as the woman suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The motive for the attack remains unclear.

Another viral video saw a man, alleged to be Hunt, confronting and harassing another woman walking down the street.

‘B***. You wanna run b***? You wanna run motherf***er,’ the man was heard saying, as the woman was videoed escaping onto the road behind a car.

‘Huh? I bet you run again motherf***er. You said something else? You said something… You Donald Trump motherf***er and that other motherf***er who (unintelligible) my son Elijah. I’m gonna f***ing kill you.’

A man who was threatened by Hunt late last year at a Charlotte light rail station said that Hunt was ‘basically’ punished with ‘a slap on the wrist’ during his trial in court.

‘He lifted his shirt up and I saw weapons. He had a gun, which police said they never found, he had a knife and a hatchet,’ the man told the outlet.

‘And he lifts the shirt up to show me what he’s got and he said, “Are you ready to die today?” I saw my life flash in front of my eyes. I didn’t know what to think. I was frozen, it felt like an eternity.’

Court records showed that Hunt was charged with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon, WBTV reported.

Hunt was ultimately handed a plea deal on March 18 for assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. He was sentenced to time served – a total of 89 days in the Mecklenburg County Jail.

‘I had to go to court in March for my incident and they gave him basically a slap on the wrist,’ the man told the outlet.

‘They pulled me into a room and basically said that they felt he had been punished enough and were giving him time served. I was shocked, but what am I going to say to the [District Attorney]? I tried to put my two cents in and they didn’t want to hear that.’

He added that he believed the justice system would now ‘owe everyone an apology.’

‘They need to lock these people up. It’s time to stop giving them a pass,’ he continued.

The Daily Mail reached out to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney Spencer Merriweather for comment.
