Mariska Hargitay has been the star of one of the most-watched shows on TV for almost 27 years, so it’s not as if she’s been in hiding.
But if it feels as if the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actress is suddenly everywhere, you’re not mistaken. There she was courtside during the NBA Finals—and then riding in the championship parade with the New York Knicks. Less than two weeks later, she was back at Madison Square Garden to attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding with her husband of 22 years, Peter Hermann.
Meanwhile, she squeezed in those outings in between performances of Every Brilliant Thing on Broadway. And then, the 62-year-old celebrated the end of her stage run by confirming she’ll host the 2026 Emmys on Sept. 14, where she’s also a nominee.
And at some point this summer, the mother of three—she and Hermann share sons August, 20, and Andrew, 14, and daughter Amaya, 15—will go back to her day job, playing Capt. Olivia Benson on SVU, for a 28th season.
But the timing of this joyful onslaught of exciting experiences is no coincidence.
