The Taylor Sheridan empire continues full steam ahead. Fans of the markedly successful TV writer, creator, and showrunner have had plenty from Sheridan to sink their teeth into this year. Landman saw a thunderous return with a renewed look at the cutthroat oil business in season 2 which aired at the end of 2025 and into 2026. And while Sheridan only acted as an executive producer, Marshals and Dutton Ranch, Yellowstone spin-offs with Sheridan-born characters like the infamous Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), debuted in 2026. A wholly original series The Madison, once intended to be tied into the Yellowstone universe, also took off in 2026 with leading lady Michelle Pfeiffer and Hollywood mainstay Kurt Russell who star as a family looking to start a new life in Montana following personal tragedy.
Now, Sheridan fans are eyeing the next installment of his political spy-thriller, Lioness. Zoe Saldaña leads the charge as Joe McNamara, a CIA case officer in charge of the Lioness program. The titular program is a black ops unit in which female operatives are recruited to infiltrate the social circles of terror cell leaders and their families, friends, or associates. It’s a harrowing series that focuses on the flashpoint decision-making that’s involved in spycraft and espionage.

Joe’s world is going to shift in Season 3 of Lioness
Here’s where and when to stream the next season
The series’ main player, Joe, is a family woman. In this world of spy networks, trained operatives, and geopolitical chess, she often finds herself stuck between a rock (her career) and a hard place (her family). Season 3 is set to further disrupt her stressful work-life balance as hidden dangers from her day-job begin to painfully overlap with life at home. The new season is set to be another hard-hitting entry in the gritty military drama.
The premiere episode of Lioness’ third season will be available on Sunday, August 2nd. Viewers can stream the thriller on Paramount+. Of course, Lioness season 3 will follow the trend of other major Sheridan releases on Paramount+ with a new episode being released weekly. So, if you’re ready to dive in on the premiere date, you’ll have to wait a week in between each episode instead of binging the full season. Just like seasons 1 and 2, viewers can expect 8 episodes for season 3. With an 8-episode arc, the season will conclude on September 20th.
Who else can we expect to return in season 3?
Lioness returns with a stacked cast
From the beginning, Lioness has boasted a star-studded cast. Aside from Saldaña in the lead, Nicole Kidman plays the role of Kaitlyn Meade, a senior CIA supervisor overseeing Joe’s position at the head of the Lioness program. Meade is often the go-between Joe and higher levels within the government and the agency. Speaking of government officials, Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman suits up as Edwin Mullins, the U.S. Secretary of State. Briefly introduced in season 1, Freeman’s Edwin Mullins is the point of accountability for the agency regarding all of their undertakings in the Lioness program.
Michael Kelly portrays Byron Westfield, the CIA Deputy Director, and yet another point of oversight for Joe and her team of Lioness recruits. In season 1, Laysla De Oliveira played the character Cruz Manuelos, the first recruit into the Lioness program who is tasked with providing the intel needed to bring down terrorist leader and financier Asmar Ali Amrohi. All of these established members of the cast are set to return in season 3. Of course, Sheridan returns as a key writer, producer, and all-around creator of the series. So, fans can expect more of what they love from the TV mogul’s productions.
What other Taylor Sheridan shows can you catch on Paramount+?
Paramount+ is home to most of Sheridan’s originals
If you’ve caught up on Lioness and are simply vying for more Sheridan entertainment, Paramount+ is a great place to be. While the writer and creator’s hit Yellowstone series is currently not available on Paramount+ (check out Peacock if you want to stream that series), just about everything else Sheridan has touched from a creative capacity can be found on Paramount+ including Yellowstone spin-offs 1883, 1923, Marshals, and Dutton Ranch.
Beyond the Yellowstone universe, Sheridan has invested a lot of creative capacity in other original series. In Tulsa King, Sylvester Stallone leads the series as Dwight Manfredi, an Italian-American Mafio capo who is just released from a 25-year stint in prison only to be sent to expand business for the crime family in rural Tulsa, Oklahoma. If you enjoy the world of crime, be sure to watch Mayor of Kingstown. The series follows Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) who attempts to broker peace between law enforcement and the organized crime that has pushed its way into Kingstown, even if that peace comes as a result of breaking the long-established rule of law. One thing is certain, there’s no shortage of Sheridan on Paramount+.
