Dutch design firm V8 Architects has created a set of semi-detached homes in the Netherlands dubbed the Villa Residu. It has an eco-friendly approach and uses recycled and reused materials to apply circular design principles to housing. Villa Residu is all a part of the Koer residential development for developer VORM in Rotterdam.
V8 Architects founding partner Michiel Raaphorst speaks about the project, noting, “No matter how small, Villa Residu is an enormously relevant project for us. As it has proven to be very difficult to implement circularity in the current development of large-scale housing projects, we wanted a smaller project to push it to the maximum and to learn from the process. Villa Residu also shows that aesthetics, construction methodology and circularity can work together.”
