The Has Fallen franchise is getting a third season.

StudioCanal has announced Shadow Has Fallen, which builds on the Gerard Butler film series and the first two seasons of the TV spin-off: Paris Has Fallen and Apollo Has Fallen, which premieres this fall.

Ritu Arya (The Umbrella Academy) and Tewfik Jallab (Spiral) reprise their respective roles as MI6 operative Zara Taylor and former French secret service agent Vincent Taleb.

Joining the cast for Season 3 are Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones), Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey), and Atandwa Kani (Black Panther).

Series creator Howard Overman has written Shadow Has Fallen, which will be set in southern Africa. Overman said it would be Taylor and Taleb’s most “demanding and morally challenging mission” to date.

Here’s the logline: “When a prison bus is ambushed in a sudden, brutal attack in Mozambique, an unassuming British prisoner, Miles (Rheon), is extracted by Vincent and Zara, igniting a chain reaction that will threaten global infrastructure, world leaders, and the very idea of government itself.

“Miles is a whistleblower who has in his possession a totally untraceable, unstoppable cyber weapon capable of hijacking any computerised system, from banks to military drones. He helped the British government to develop the cyber weapon, but now he has stolen it. The question is, why?”

Shadow Has Fallen is an Urban Myth Films production for StudioCanal and the Canal+ Group, in partnership with StudioCanal, Millennium, and G-BASE.

Julian Murphy is the producer. Executive producers are Johnny Capps and Howard Overman for Urban Myth; M-K Kennedy and Daniel Gratton for StudioCanal; Gerard Butler and Alan Siegel for G-BASE; Avi Lerner, Jonathan Yunger and Yariv Lerner for Millennium.

Marco Kreuzpaintner (Bodies) and Alice Troughton (The Living and The Dead) are attached to direct.

Apollo Has Fallen will premiere on September 14 on Canal+ in France. The series will stream on Hulu in the U.S. and Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
