A shellshocked Alabama mother shuffled out of court with her boyfriend after a terrifying discovery on a child’s tablet led to both of them being charged with severe sexual abuse.
Chelsea Marie Elmore, 30, and Antony Eugene Ebey, also 30, appeared Tuesday at the Madison County Courthouse in Huntsville for a bond hearing in connection to the charges, according to WHNT.
Elmore, dressed in a full orange jumpsuit and with her hands cuffed in front of her, was captured awkwardly ambling out of the legal proceedings, with Ebey following closely behind.
An investigator for the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, Chris Hilliard, testified Tuesday that law enforcement had first received a report of child sexual abuse from a family member of the couple.
Hillard testified that the family member said they had found an explicit video on a child’s tablet, according to the outlet.
After that, the sheriff’s department began investigating and allegedly found video evidence showing Elmore and Ebey committing offenses against family members.
At least 12 videos of the alleged abuse were found by authorities, Hillard testified.
Hilliard also told the courtroom that Elmore and Ebey had a child together, and that both of them admitted to having sexual encounters with children when interviewed by police.

Hillard told the courtroom that Elmore filmed the alleged abuse and then sent the videos to Ebey, according to WAFF.
An investigation conducted by law enforcement determined that some of the alleged abuse was filmed at Elmore’s home, according to Hillard.
However, other cases of the alleged abuse happened at a hotel in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, roughly 35 miles southeast of Knoxville.
Footage depicting the alleged abuse was obtained by detectives after the Madison County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant, according to the outlet.
The couple was questioned by the Criminal Investigations Division and arrested on Friday.
Elmore was charged with first-degree sodomy of a victim less than 12 years old, first-degree sexual abuse, possession of child pornography, dissemination of child pornography and production of child pornography with minors.
She was hit with four new sodomy charges and three new rape charges by the Madison County District Attorney’s Office during Tuesday’s preliminary hearing.
Meanwhile, Ebey was charged with first-degree sodomy of a victim less than 12 years old and first-degree sexual abuse.
A public social media profile belonging to Elmore suggested she had been in a relationship with Ebey since at least September 2023

‘When a child is the victim, we take it personally,’ Madison County Sheriff Kevin Turner said.
‘There is absolutely no place in our community for anyone who sexually abuses or exploits a child.’
The couple has remained in custody at the Madison County Jail without bond since their arrest.
Elmore’s attorney, Shay Golden, acknowledged the severity of the charges against the couple.
‘We have allegations that are basically going to, potentially going to destroy an entire family,’ Golden told WHNT.
But he insisted that the nature of the accusations ‘[did] not affect our right to a bond.’
‘This is a bailable offense,’ Golden told the outlet. ‘So we’re simply asking that a reasonable bond be put in place.’
He added that Elmore lacked the financial means to ‘abscond or escape from jurisdiction’ and that she would need to help in her defense against the allegations.

A public social media profile said that Elmore was from Huntsville but lived in Meridianville.
Photos going back to 2022 showed a smiling Elmore posing with several children, as well as her boyfriend.
Her profile noted that she had been in a relationship since September 2023 with an ‘AJ Ebey.’
However, it appeared as though Ebey’s profile had since been deleted.
The Daily Mail has reached out to the Madison County District Attorney’s Office, Elmore’s attorney, Shay Golden, and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office for further comment.
It was not immediately clear if Ebey had obtained representation.
