Well, maybe not her, but such was the look on Selena Gomez‘s face during the 2026 Emmys when it dawned on her that Mariska Hargitay was making her second Martin Short joke of the night.

Noting that many hit TV shows are celebrating milestone anniversaries this year, the first-time Emmys host shared that The Muppet Show is turning 50, “which means it is now finally aged prosciutto,” and that anyone who watched Hannah Montana‘s original run should be scheduling “a Hannah mammogramma.”

Also, Hargitay continued, “Stranger Things just wrapped up after 10 years—10 full years!—and look at how the kids have grown up now. They grow up so fast!”

She gestured toward the Only Murders in the Building table, referring obviously to Short and Steve Martin. (See the whole list of nominees and winners from the 2026 Emmys.)

The veteran actors laughed, while Gomez at first looked baffled, but quickly realized where Hargitay was pointing and also starting laughing, her face ending up in her hands.
