A Venezuelan man who claimed the voices in his head told him to come to Washington to kill Donald Trump was arrested in a stolen car with multiple firearms near the White House Thursday.
Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos was previously subject to the catch and release policy of the Biden administration at the Texas border in 2024, a DHS spokesperson told The Daily Mail.
Chrinos was approached after he was seen ‘acting suspicious’ in the car as it was parked on Constitution Avenue, which forms the southern boundary of the President’s Park grounds.
Secret Service agents had found the vehicle was stolen and after Chrinos admitted to having weapons, discovered three firearms – an AR-15-style rifle and two handguns – along with dozens of rounds of ammunition.
‘Thanks to our brave Secret Service officers, this illegal alien with three firearms in his vehicle was arrested near the White House before he could harm anyone,’ said Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin.
‘On top of threatening President Trump, he is an illegal alien from Venezuela who had no business being in our country in the first place. This is just an example of the incredible work done by the men and women of the Secret Service every single day.’
Chrinos was charged with carrying a rifle outside of a home or business, three counts of unlawful transportation of a firearm, three counts of unregistered firearms, three counts of unregistered ammunition, possession of certain dangerous weapons, carrying a pistol without a license, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, theft, and receiving stolen property.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement lodged a detainer with the US Marshals Service for Chrinos, who is currently in custody.
