At the Fancy Food Show in New York City, Chinese brand Oegg showcased its flavorful range of seasoned quail eggs. These soft-baked, ready-to-eat quail eggs are packaged by the pouch to share varieties with salty, roasted or tomato flavors with a shelf life of 12 months at room temperature. Oegg’s product portfolio also includes New Zealand Manuka Quail Eggs and Black Truffle Quail Eggs.
With chicken egg prices skyrocketing, quail eggs are emerging as an alternative. Though often seen as a specialty item and associated with fine dining and gourmet dishes, quail eggs are richer in nutrients and protein. Many also report a creamier flavor, which can be attributed to quail eggs’ higher yolk-to-white ratio.
