A Subaru driver was handed a heavy dose of karma after he tried to bypass a traffic line by driving on the shoulder, only to be immediately pulled over by a police officer as first responders rushed through traffic.
The Fairfax County Police Department shared body camera footage of the car riding along the right shoulder, completely bypassing dozens of vehicles in standstill traffic.
Little did the driver know, an officer was patrolling the interstate and wasted no time pulling him over.
The driver attempted to merge back into the right lane, but the officer’s sirens were already signaling for him to pull over.
Right after the driver pulled to the side of the road, two ambulances with their lights on came through en route to an emergency.
‘Couldn’t have timed that better,’ the caption for the video read.
‘And that’s exactly why we don’t drive on the shoulder right? Now we just blocked the first responders cause now we’re on the shoulder,’ the police officer told the driver after approaching his vehicle.
‘That was a really great example of why we don’t do that,’ the officer added.

Virginia police shared a karmic video of a Subaru driver getting pulled over after attempting to pass traffic by illegally driving on the shoulder
The driver tried to merge back into the right lane, but the police officer had already seen him on the shoulder and issued the traffic stop
Immediately after the driver was pulled over, two ambulances rushed through the shoulder, offering the perfect opportunity for the officer to issue a stern scolding
The driver was then forced to find his license and registration. When asked why he decided to illegally bypass traffic, he confessed: ‘No good reason.’
The officer then ran his documents and warned the driver that driving on the shoulder is considered reckless driving.
Fairfax County is in Virginia. The department did not share where or when the traffic stop occurred.
The driver’s identity has also not been disclosed, and it’s unclear if he received a citation for reckless driving.
The charge is a class one misdemeanor and can result in points on a driving record, up to a $2,500 fine, up to one year in jail or up to a six-month suspension of driving privileges.
The video of the karmic interaction has since gone viral on Facebook, with many praising the officer’s impeccable timing.

The police officer lectured the driver on driving on the shoulder, pointing to two ambulances that needed to get through
‘Finally some karma,’ one wrote.
‘The fastest route is following the rules of the road,’ another added.
‘And not one driver in that line was upset by the delay, they got rare front row seats to the karma show!’ a third joked.
‘How the heck do you do that with a cop sitting right there?’ questioned a fourth.
The Daily Mail has reached out to the Fairfax County Police Department for more information on the video.
