Footage captured the moment an Aussie tourist confronted a traveller after catching him littering at a world-famous Indonesian lookout. 

The fiery showdown unfolded at a scenic viewpoint on Padar Island, in Labuan Bajo, last week.

A Chinese tourist was caught carelessly throwing his plastic water bottle to the ground.

An Aussie woman picked up the water bottle and scolded the man.

‘I don’t care, you saw the sign. This is beautiful, and you ruin it,’ she said.

‘Shameful. Shame on you. Don’t come back. I don’t care, don’t litter.’

The Chinese tourist hit back, asking the woman where she was from.

‘Australia,’ the woman replied. ‘Shame on you. Don’t come back. Don’t litter.’

An Australian tourist unleashed on a man after allegedly catching him littering at Indonesia’s iconic Padar Island lookout 

Several other tourists stepped in to tell off the tourist.

‘Hey, you’re rude. You should go. No one likes you,’ a woman said.

Padar Island is the most iconic viewpoint in Komodo National Park, known for its dramatic hills and crystal-clear waters.  

The Komodo National Park Authority told news.com.au that all visitors are briefed about littering before going on the Padar Island hike.

The organisation said staff would tighten supervision and remind tourists to maintain cleanliness at the park.

Footage of the incident between the Aussie tourist and Chinese holidaymaker has been shared on social media, with thousands praising the woman. 

‘Please tell him to pick it up and bring it home. Basic knowledge,’ one said 

‘As an Indonesian, thank you for this,’ another said. 

The tourist called out his ‘shameful’ behaviour

‘This is the spirit of Australia,’ one added 

Another social media user agreed that Australia takes littering seriously. 

‘In Australia we have a really strong culture for not littering,’ they wrote.

‘I’m not surprised seeing these girls react like this.’
