Rosie O’Donnell Is Open To Return To ‘The View’ As A Guest Host, “But They Haven’t Asked Me”

Rosie O’Donnell is open to making an appearance on The View if she were to be invited.

With many former co-hosts of the ABC talk show recently returning as guest co-hosts, like Abby Huntsman and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, O’Donnell would consider making a comeback as well.

“I did catch [Hasselbeck] on [The View], and I would be up to guest host, but they haven’t asked me,” O’Donnell said on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. “So we’ll see what happens, but, you know, listen, it’s interesting. In the time of Trump, I think she’s the perfect person they want on TV spouting their rhetoric.”

O’Donnell famously quit The View following the on-camera fight with Hasselbeck in 2007, which saw the show use a split screen between them.

Late-night host Andy Cohen asked O’Donnell, “Are you still annoyed that the director went to the split screen?”

O’Donnell quipped, “Yah, I’m still annoyed. Believe me, a mommy knows how to hold a grudge.”

The former daytime talk show host joined The View in 2007 as the moderator, but left after only one season. She would later return as a co-host in 2015 as the show looked to revamp and focus less on politics. The panel included Whoopi Goldberg, Nicolle Wallace, and Rosie Perez. O’Donnell would once again leave after only one season, abruptly exiting the show five months into her return.
