Revealed: The vile cache of child abuse material and sick violent porn found on the phone of Australia’s youngest killer soon after his release from jail

Australia’s youngest murderer – who stabbed a toddler in the heart when he was 13 – has been jailed for downloading sexually violent pornography and child abuse material.

Now known by the court-ordered alias SLD, the former child killer was found with 43 images on his phone, including a photo of a five-year-old girl, naked from the waist down next to a naked man.

He had boasted to police that police would ‘never find [the material] on my phone’.

Police also uncovered violent pornography showing women tied up, terrified, or being assaulted. One explicit image was titled ‘the raped virgin’.

As a young teenager in 2001, murderer SLD crept into a neighbour’s Point Clare home on the NSW Central Coast and found Courtney Morley-Clarke, 3, asleep.

He pulled her from her bed before stabbing her in the heart with a knife, and dumping her body in long grass nearby.

SLD served 20 years for the murder and was released in 2023, telling authorities his greatest desire was to finally lose his virginity.

One month later, he was back in jail for breaching his conditions when he approached women with young children on a beach and asked them for a date.

Police facts obtained by the Daily Mail show that between March and April last year, SLD made searches for ‘movie rape virgin child’ and ‘real child rape porn’.

He also accessed a web address entitled ‘real drugged girl raped in hotel leaked dark web’.

The images of adult women he downloaded included women with their hands tied behind their backs, and a woman naked from the waist down, blindfolded and bent over a table with a man behind her engaged in a sexual act.

The images form part of the case against SLD on five charges of breaching his supervision orders, one of posses child abuse material and one of attempt to use carriage service to access child abuse material.

He pleaded guilty in May and was sentenced by Judge Paul Johnson on Wednesday.

His breaches included creating a fake Facebook profile, using an alias on a dating website to avoid detection, and searching for pornographic material

Before his release, authorities believed he was at high risk of re-offending because of his obsession with finding a girlfriend and starting a sexual relationship after being  behind bars for more than 20 years.

Psychiatrists said the killer was fixated on getting revenge for perceived wrongs and could react violently if he felt he was unfairly treated.

Within weeks of his release, he breached one of his release orders of ‘not associating with children’.

Two months after release, on October 24, 2023, SLD went to Bulli Beach near Wollongong south of Sydney and spoke to three women there.

He approached two mothers with their young daughters and asked: ‘Hi, I just got out of jail. Do you come here often?’

SLD was with his parole supervisor and wearing an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet when an off-duty prison officer, who happened to be present, spotted the device.

He watched SLD speak to another woman feeding an infant at the beach cafe before approaching a second woman from behind as she dressed her 15-month-old son

SLD asked the young mother if she knew how to turn on the shower for washing feet, which she answered and then turned back to dressing her son.

SLD then continued to speak with the woman, commenting about the red marks on her young son’s skin, asking if they were chickenpox.

The woman replied: ‘No, they are just mosquito bites.’

How should society handle dangerous offenders who repeatedly break laws after long prison sentences?

SLD continued questioning her as she dressed her son, saying: ‘Is dad around?’ When the woman replied, ‘yes, he is’, SLD responded: ‘Oh that’s good, I guess.’

Judge Johnson said the charges before him on Wednesday ‘must be seen in context of further breaches of same order.’

He said on a different occasion ‘the offender self-harmed when he wasn’t brought to court to speak with his lawyers in person’

In another incident, the judge said SLD ‘entered the bedroom of another resident’ at a prison halfway house.

SLD attended his sentencing in person, sitting in the dock of Campbelltown District Court.

Crown prosecutor Darren Robinson told the court that the mandatory minimum sentence for SLD’s latest offence was four years in jail, but SLD’s defence argued for less.

Defence barrister Dev Bhutani said SLD had attempted to access child abuse material through what could be considered an ‘ordinary pornographic website’.

He said SLD had only been out of jail for ‘125 days in the last 25 years’ and that was effectively putting his development in ‘deep freeze’.

Mr Bhutani said a previous court hearing had determined that ‘immature’ SLD was ‘more like a teenager than an adult’ after being locked up since the age of 13.

Judge Johnson sentenced SLD to a maximum term of four years and six months with a non-parole period of two years and 11 months, backdated, meaning he will be up for parole on March 8, 2028.

He said that SLD had accessed pornography sites such as one named Rape Lust, but found the image of the child he downloaded was at the low end of seriousness.

He said some of SLD’s breaches of his supervision orders were also on the lower end of seriousness.

He said SLD had a ‘terrible’ early life. SLD’s mother was ‘a poly drug user who used heroin while SLD was in utero, had a severe personality disorder and SLD never knew his father’.

SLD was taken from his mother when he was three, and he and his siblings were ‘physically, sexually and emotionally abused in the family environment and then made wards of state’.

SLD had been diagnosed with a chromosomal disorder, a severe personality disorder, ADHD and autism, and had an IQ of 74.

He said SLD’s prospects of rehabilitation and not reoffending were ‘not positive’.
