The Telegraph Hotel Tbilisi transforms a once-important Soviet-era post office on Rustaveli Avenue into a luxury hotel while restoring its cultural spirit. Designed by Neri&Hu, the renovation carefully preserved the modernist facade clad in Bolnisi tuff while introducing floor-to-ceiling glazing at street level that draws passersby into the renewed public spaces.
A central courtyard forms the heart of the hotel, which features climbing greenery, an al fresco bar, and transparent divisions that maintain sightlines between restaurants, a library, and lounges. The material palette comprises board-formed concrete, travertine, dark timber, emerald marble, and brass—supports an understated elegance rooted in the building’s original geometry. Across 239 guest rooms, multiple dining venues, and cultural gathering spaces, the hotel honors Tbilisi’s history while setting a new benchmark for design-driven hospitality that bridges heritage and contemporary life.
