Popular Aussie fashion brand BlackMilk Clothing enters voluntary administration after moving production offshore

Popular Aussie fashion brand BlackMilk Clothing has entered voluntary administration after shifting its production offshore earlier this year.

In a post to the brand’s social media page co-owner Linda Lillis said the business had undertaken ‘significant change’ to respond to a ‘very different retail environment’ in recent years.

‘But the combination of a challenging consumer environment, rising costs and increasingly complex global trading conditions has continued to place pressure on the business,’ the post read.

Ms Lillis said the brand’s website would continue to remain open and customer orders would continue to be shipped.

In July, CEO Jackie Kruger announced the business would wind down manufacturing at its last factory in Australia, which was located in Brisbane.

It was understood the manufacturing process would move to China.

More to come.
