Pilot accidentally caught in flirty mix-up with air traffic controller

A pilot accidentally got caught in the middle of a flirty over-the-airwaves exchange between another pilot and his air traffic controller wife.

The awkward moment occurred as the pilot radioed in to the Camarillo air traffic control radio tower in California at the same time the other pilot was talking to his spouse.

‘Back to work, love you,’ the first pilot was heard telling his wife.

The other pilot then chimed in asking for guidance on a Tower En Route Control (TEC) route:  ‘Hey Camarillo tower, we love you too. So we’d like to get a TEC route, if possible, to Santa Monica.’

The red-faced air traffic controller then explained: ‘That’s my husband flying over.’

‘All right, that just got way awkward,’ the pilot responded.

‘That’s okay, he does that sometimes,’ the air traffic controller replied.

The exchange took another turn as her husband chimed back in on the frequency and said: ‘I’m still here. You flirting with my wife?’

The embarrassed pilot replied: ‘No comment.’

The wife then clarified that her husband wasn’t actually angry, but the pilot still responded that he would give himself ‘a little time out.’

The exchange went viral online, as viewers chuckled and joked about the incident.

‘Your wife? You mean our wife?’ one user wrote on Instagram.

‘When your real husband and your work husband find out about each other,’ another said.

‘Too cute!!!’ a third said.

‘How cute was that “bye” though,’ another commented.

‘We love you too.” Was such bro vibes, and how he put himself on timeout,’ one user laughed.

On Facebook, another joked: ‘Love is in the air?’

It remains unclear what airline or flights the pilots were flying.

The Daily Mail reached out to the Federal Aviation Administration for comment.
