One of Clint Eastwood’s greatest Westerns is now free to stream

I love a good western, so whenever I get the chance to pitch one for movie night with friends or family, I take it.

Recently, I rewatched The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, starring Clint Eastwood, and it got me thinking about some of Eastwood’s other iconic westerns films, including A Fistful of Dollars.

Directed by Sergio Leone and released in 1964, A Fistful of Dollars stars Eastwood as the Man with No Name, a mysterious drifter who arrives in a small border town divided by two rival crime families. He cleverly manipulates both sides against each other for his own gain, but as the violence escalates, he risks his life to protect an innocent family and restore some measure of justice.

A Fistful of Dollars is the first film in Sergio Leone’s Dollars Trilogy, followed by For a Few Dollars More (1965) and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966). Although all three films feature Eastwood as the Man with No Name, they tell standalone stories rather than a single continuous narrative, making A Fistful of Dollars a great place to start if you’ve never seen the trilogy.

And fortunately, if you want to watch A Fistful of Dollars, now’s the perfect time, as it’s just arrived on this free streaming service.
