Olivia Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival took place on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026.
The festival featured a stacked lineup of artists who performed throughout the day, building up to Rodrigo’s headlining set, where she welcomed special guests Stevie Nicks, Sarah McLachlan, and Alanis Morissette to the stage.
“Before I start the set, I wanted to say a few thank yous, and I wanted to make a really exciting announcement,” Rodrigo told the crowd. “First, I would love to give a round of applause to all the incredible artists who you saw perform today. Give it up for Chappell Roan, Mitski, Doechii, Garbage, Bikini Kill, the Breeders, Santigold, Devon Again, Die Spitz, Rachel Chinouriri, Eli, Quiet Light, and Not For Radio. Give it up!”
“I feel so proud that they’re my peers. And I feel so lucky to be part of a musical community that supports each other and stands up for what’s right. The fact that they took the time out of their insanely busy schedules to come and do this festival for free is something I’m so grateful for,” she continued.
“Because of that and because of all of you who came to hang out today, I can stand on the stage and say, we are donating $10 million to 10 incredible charities supporting women and girls,” she announced. “All of the organizations Daisy Chain benefits are doing essential, inspiring work, and I hope you all get a chance to learn more about them today.”
“I really believe that giving women the tools to decide their own futures and live healthy lives free of violence and discrimination is the most effective tool we have at changing the world for the better,” Rodrigo said.
“And I don’t know many people who represent that idea more than Melinda French Gates,” Rodrigo continued. “Melinda is one of the most inspiring women I’ve ever met. She’s devoted her life to empowering women and girls that might otherwise have been forgotten. She’s generous and brave and has done so much good in this world.”
“And I’m totally floored because, as well as being in attendance here tonight, she’s pledged to double every dollar that we made here today, bringing the grand total of funds being donated to $20 million!”
“Thank you, Olivia! Look at what you have done! Look at what you’ve created,” French Gates said.
“What I love about you is that you know the real power is not up here onstage. It’s with everybody there, all of you!” she told festivalgoers. “When women and girls come together to dream and to lead, we change the world. And so long after the lights go down from this festival, the organizations doing this work will keep doing it because you all are here. So thank you for being here, and thank you, Olivia!”
