Netflix’s ‘Bass X Machina’ Teaser Packs Western Grit, Steampunk Chaos, and Savage Action

Netflix has released a new teaser for Bass X Machina, and it arrives packed with western grit, steampunk chaos, and savage action. The footage drops during a stretch when the platform continues to lean into animation that resists easy labels. Dust clouds, roaring machinery, and flashes of danger blend into a world that feels lawless yet strangely familiar. Every frame hints at a bigger story waiting to unfold.

As the smoke clears and the title card fades, the teaser reveals just how far this frontier tale is willing to go.

Bass x machina teaser puts a father on a lawless frontier

Netflix uploaded the official teaser for Bass X Machina on its X account, and the roughly one-minute clip wastes no time establishing the tone. Brian Tyree Henry stars as Bass, a reluctant lawman thrust into the roles of judge, jury, and executioner across a lawless steampunk frontier.

“Disarm peacefully, you might live,” A voice in the trailer warns, setting the stakes early.

The premiere date is confirmed for November 3, 2026.

Netflix’s X account carried the teaser, and the platform’s earlier series announcement had already confirmed the wider ensemble surrounding Henry. Janelle Monáe, Tati Gabrielle, Cree Summer, Chaske Spencer, Currie Graham, and Starletta DuPois round out the voice cast as Glory, Dana, Ahni, Lighthorse, Rivenbark, and Etta. Studio Mir handles the animation, while Roman GianArthur and Nate Wonder of Wondaland composed the score. The series was originally set for October 6 before shifting to its new November date.

While Bass rides through a frontier built on machinery and justice, Netflix quietly expands its animated roster elsewhere.

Netflix adds supernatural comedy Dealies to its animation slate

Netflix has also greenlit Dealies, a new adult animated workplace comedy set inside a supernatural big box store. The series comes from Joe Bennett and Ted Travelstead, the creative minds behind Scavengers Reign and Common Side Effects. Animation studio Titmouse is producing, continuing a partnership with Netflix that began back in 2020. The staff at the store includes a savant salesman, a gentle gladiator, a quiet virtuoso, and a summoner of the divine.

An exhausted manager rounds out the group, having somehow decided hiring all of them was a good idea. The show leans into the chaos unfolding inside the store while blending workplace comedy with supernatural absurdity. Dealies is expected to premiere sometime in 2027, though no exact date has been set. Between a steampunk lawman and a haunted retail crew, Netflix animation is clearly aiming for range this year.
