A cigar-puffing Michael Jordan looked in great shape as he took a stroll in Marbella with stunning wife Yvette Prieto this week – after fears over his health inspired him to get fit.
The NBA great, 63, is enjoying another European vacation with Prieto, 48, this summer, having visited a number of cities in Italy, Greece and France over the years.
The couple are soaking up the sun in Spain, where this week they were seen walking at the Marbella Club Hotel while surrounded by their security guards.
Jordan, smoking one of his trademark cigars, showed off his new slimmed-down physique while sporting an orange T-shirt with denim shorts and white sneakers.
And a source has told the Daily Mail that the six-time NBA champion and NASCAR team owner has focused on his health ever since a worrying photo of him in Monaco sparked concern in 2024.
‘Along with being seen on TV through NASCAR and his occasional moments on NBC with the NBA, he’s wanted to be in good shape and TV-ready so to speak as of late, because not so long ago fans were giving him some grief over his appearance and the way his eyes have looked, making many worried about him,’ the insider said.

‘But the great thing about Mike and his health, is that he was an elite athlete for so long, he knows what to do to stay in shape, and having a wife who was a model, they work out together and he is always walking around on the golf course, so he remains overall in solid shape. Plus, how much stress do you think he has? Not much, he is rich, happily married and loving life. That goes a long way in someone’s health.’
Back in September 2024, fans expressed their concern when Jordan was spotted at the Stade Louis II with Yvette to watch Monaco beat Barcelona in the Champions League.
After Bleacher Report posted a picture of him at the game, the comments section was full of references to the former Chicago Bulls star’s worryingly yellow eyes.
It was not the first time that his eyes have caused concern, with fans initially sharing theories about his health after the release of the hugely popular docuseries The Last Dance in 2020.
Jordan was interviewed for the Netflix show and appeared regularly with a yellow tint to his eyes, sparking fears he was suffering from jaundice – or perhaps even something more serious.
Jaundice is often caused by the over-consumption of alcohol, and leads the sufferer’s skin and eyes to turn yellow.
‘As he was hearing people talking about his looks, he changed some eating habits and got back to working out a little more as he is just making sure that he will be just as spry when he gets into his 70s as he has been in his 60s,’ the source added.
The insider also played down the possibility that Jordan has taken weight-loss drugs to get himself back in shape. ‘If he is on Ozempic or anything else, he hasn’t told anybody, nor has anyone asked. He’s keeping that to himself,’ they insisted.

The NBA legend, who is worth an estimated $4.3billion, enjoyed a puff on his cigar

The color of Jordan’s eyes during TV appearances last year sparked more health fears
Jordan, who is worth an estimated $4.3billion, has travelled around Europe in recent years on two of his luxury yachts.
He is believed to own an $80m yacht known as ‘Joy’, as well as an even-bigger one known as ‘M’BRACE’, which is valued at a staggering $115m.
Jordan living a glitzy lifestyle has been typical of his time away from the NBA since his retirement for good as an active player in 2003.
This season he appeared on TV screens as a special contributor for NBC, but fans were left underwhelmed by his lack of air time after being unveiled by the network last year.
Jordan conducted just one interview with NBC host Mike Tirico, which was spread across multiple episodes of the network’s studio show in the 2025-26 campaign.
