Donald Trump has been issued a massive legal blow after a judge blocked his bid for the Alaska Senate results to be void if incumbent Senator Dan Sullivan does not win.
US District Judge Sharon Gleason ruled Sunday that the Trump administration lacked standing in the case, which sought to force Alaska to segregate ballots in the event that US Senator Dan S. Sullivan, a Republican, lost his reelection bid to Democratic challenger Mary Peltola.
Gleason said the government lacked the ability to investigate the results without violating voters’ rights to privacy. She also denied another chance for the Trump administration to amend its complaint – saying that doing so would be both futile and burdensome for Alaska election officials with just two days left before November 3.
Requiring the segregation of ballots cast by voters for Daniel J. Sullivan so that these voters can be further investigated ‘is not a remedy that this Court can or should order,’ she said, ‘as it clearly violates Alaskans’ right to a secret ballot.’
The ruling is the latest in a series of high-profile defeats for Trump administration and its flurry of pre-election lawsuits.
This comes as Trump is set to arrive in Iowa to deliver remarks for what will be his second-to-last midterm rally at 4pm Eastern Time. Around four hours later, the president will give his midterm blitz finale Kansas.
Breaking:Massive loss for Trump as Alaska judge throws out DOJ lawsuit to delay certification of controversial Senate race
A judge has thrown out the Justice Department’s lawsuit that sought to stop Alaska from certifying the results of the state’s heated Senate race between Democrat Mary Peltola and GOP incumbent Dan Sullivan.
‘The absence of any explanation from the United States as to how its requested relief could redress its alleged injury while simultaneously maintaining the secrecy of the ballot is telling,’ the US District Court for the District Alaska wrote in a new dismissal order.
‘Simply, the Court cannot grant the United States the relief it seeks because the United States has failed to establish the redressability prerequisite for Article III standing.’
DOJ said in a statement that they plan to appeal the ruling.

AOC’s allies privately express dissatisfaction with Mamdani
Two New York City progressives have been making waves nationally, but allies of one are eyeing the other’s coverage and think it’s unfair.
Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the Big Apple’s mayor Zohran Mamdani have put on a united front in public, joining forces.
Yet, as revealed by the New York Times, Mamdani’s rapid rise has caused some friction among Ocasio-Cortez’ allies, noting, ‘While Mr. Mamdani has not universally pleased the left, it has long grated on some Ocasio-Cortez allies that the new mayor seems to be given more deference from more of the base than she was ever afforded.’
Some in Ocasio-Cortez’ orbit have been struck by the level of patience and deference that Mamdani has been afforded by progressive activists and supporters – something that they believe the congresswoman was not given as her own star has risen.
Trump ignores massive Alaska humiliation, leashes out at ‘decoy’ Dan Sullivan
Donald Trump has so far ignored his humbling loss after an Alaska judge has thrown out the president’s DOJ lawsuit to delay the certification of the state’s controversial Senate race.
Instead, he took to Truth Social to leash out against the ‘decoy’ Dan Sullivan whom he accused of being a liberal plant recruited to steal votes from the GOP incumbent with the same name.
‘The Fake Daniel J. Sullivan, Jr., has DISAPPEARED! Nobody can find him, including Law Enforcement,’ the President wrote. ‘He knows that he committed a Criminal Act.’
