A man has been charged after an alleged one-punch attack on an older man collecting bottles in a Brisbane park in the early hours of Sunday morning.
It is alleged a fight broke out between two men, who did not know each other, around 1.30am on Sunday in the inner-Brisbane suburb of West End.
Police allege 27-year-old Isaiah Andrew Louis Graham struck a 66-year-old man, causing him to fall and hit his head in Bunyapa Park, on Vulture Street where he was collecting bottles and cans before he was allegedly struck.
The 66-year-old was treated at the scene for critical head injuries before being transported to hospital, where he died a short time later.
Detectives arrested Graham in Fortitude Valley on Sunday evening following an investigation.

He has been charged with one count of unlawful striking causing death and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
A West End local told the Daily Mail that he heard the altercation early on Sunday and that the park was a trouble spot.
‘I heard shouting, it was bloody scary,’ said Jimmy Fahham, who lives nearby, ‘at night, even before dark, always there is violence, drugs and fights, people having a drink, a lot of noise.
‘People are scared to go there. I don’t know if the (victim) is the man I know who used to come late at night to collect bottles, him and his wife. It is so sad.’
Graham is charged with unlawful striking causing death and possessing dangerous drugs.
The charges against Graham were mentioned briefly in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday and he will remain behind bars until a later date.
