Burr Studio has reimagined a former warehouse in Madrid, turning the industrial shell into a warm, livable space while maintaining its raw architectural character. The project balances the building’s original features with modern interventions, creating a home that feels both expansive and inviting. High ceilings, exposed structural elements, and open-plan layouts preserve the scale of the warehouse, while carefully placed partitions and mezzanine levels introduce intimacy and functional zoning. Natural light floods the interiors through large windows and new skylights, enhancing the airy atmosphere.
Materiality plays a central role, with concrete, metal, and timber working together to highlight the contrast between old and new. The minimalist palette allows the building’s form and textures to stand out, while bespoke furniture and built-in storage maximize utility without cluttering the space. Burr Studio’s approach ensures the home retains its industrial heritage while offering the comfort and refinement of modern living.
