Liverpool vs Arsenal – Premier League: Trey Nyoni is handed his first top-flight start for the Reds, while Christos Tzolis is back in the Gunners’ XI after being out with a hamstring injury

Liverpool are on a bit of a roll at the moment, aren’t they?

After a short bedding-in period at the start of this season, it seems like the Reds have quietly started to hit their stride under Andoni Iraola.

They have won their last five games in all competitions, and six of their last eight. Their only defeat came to Manchester City, with all three goals coming after they went down to ten men.

Perhaps the most exciting thing of all for Liverpool fans is that they are a joy to watch again.

Their front line is electric and they very much play the attacking football that the Anfield crowd have been so used to seeing over the years. Their identity is back.

They have had a testing few weeks, but this is perhaps their biggest yet, with the champions who took their crown off them coming to town. That entertaining attack is going to have their work cut out for them against Arsenal’s rock-solid defence.

But should Iraola’s Reds prevail and beat Arteta’s side, then maybe, just maybe, the talk of a potential title race between them would have legs.
