Liverpool were dealt a major injury blow on Saturday as Dominik Szoboszlai was forced off just half-an-hour into his comeback from a hamstring problem.
The Hungary international went down off the ball and signalled towards the Liverpool bench that he had to come off.
He was replaced by 19-year-old Trey Nyoni, who had started in the 6-3 Champions League win over LASK in midweek.
Liverpool’s misery was compounded Keane Lewis-Potter gave hosts Brentford the lead 12 minutes later on the stroke of half-time,
The Reds also had a penalty taken off them after a VAR review.
Andoni Iraola revealed the Hungarian’s injury before Liverpool’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City last weekend: ‘Szoboszlai has a tight hamstring. That’s why he’s not available today.’

Szoboszlai returned from injury this afternoon but only lasted 32 minutes before having to come off
Liverpool now have some serious injury issues with both starting strikers, Isak and Ekitike, out as well
The Spaniard will hope to have his talisman back before long as he welcomes Ryan Gravenberch back from a ban for next week’s visit of Brighton.
To make matters worse for Iraola, right back Jeremie Frimpong came on at half time and made Szoboszlai’s 32 minutes on the field look impressive, lasting only seven minutes himself before having to be forced off.
It leaves Liverpool without a fit right-back with academy graduate Conor Bradley still recovering from a long-term knee injury.
Winger Victor Munoz had to be deployed as an auxiliary full back, after stand-in Ronald Araujo was removed at half time.
The Reds sat in ninth place after seven games and ahead of the trip to Brentford.
