She accused Jenner, 28, of being aware that she was pregnant, had suffered a miscarriage, required medical leave and intended to return to work after.
“Despite such knowledge,” the filing read, “Defendants failed to provide the former employee adequate support, accommodation, protection from harassment, or meaningful assistance” following her “pregnancy complications, miscarriage, and return from leave.”
The former employee is requesting an unspecified amount of damages, back pay, lost wages, lost earnings, lost employment benefits, attorneys’ costs and fees, as well as a jury trial.
Amid the widespread news of the filing, the employee’s attorney Della Shaker said that the chef “never wanted to be in the spotlight.”
“She simply wanted to be treated fairly,” Shaker shared in a June 26 statement to E! News. “She hopes that by sharing her story, others facing similar struggles will know they are not alone—she is choosing courage over silence and hopes her story inspires others to stand up for their rights.”
