Kim Kardashian Cried ‘Every Night’ on Dancing With the Stars

Kim Kardashian is still traumatized by her Dancing With the Stars experience.

“I would honestly cry in my trailer, like, every single night, praying to get kicked off. It was so hard for me,” Kardashian, 45, said of her 2008 stint in the ballroom during an interview on the Thursday, October 15, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

“I was so shy to do it, I couldn’t get over myself,” she reflected. “I couldn’t get into it ‘cause I was just so shy.”

Kardashian partnered up with professional dancer Mark Ballas on Dancing With the Stars season 7 but only lasted three weeks on the show before being eliminated. (Brooke Burke and Derek Hough were eventually named the winners of the season.)

“I’ve never danced again. I am traumatized,” Kardashian added. “It’s traumatized me for life.”

Host Jimmy Kimmel then played a brief clip of Kardashian and Ballas dancing on the show, to which the Skims cofounder said, “I can’t even watch it.”

Kardashian went on to reveal that her sister Kylie Jenner had recently pulled up footage from her DWTS stint, too, during a family night in.

“We had a family poker night three weeks ago, [and] Kylie decides to put it on the big movie screen because half the people there didn’t know that I did it and she wanted to show everyone,” Kardashian said.

“Thank God it’s so old that it’s, like, pixelated. There’s no HD version of it on YouTube,” she quipped.

The Kardashians star continued, “But you know what? I, like, got up and went in front of the screen and I remembered some of my moves. I wished that I had the confidence that I do now.”

Reliving her DWTS experience with her family gave Kardashian an idea: an all-Kardashian-Jenner family season of the show.

“I told my sisters … I was like, ‘Could you imagine if we did a Kardashian-Jenner whole season of all of us competing against each other on Dancing With the Stars?’” she said. “We all loved [the idea], and we were all like, ‘Yes, let’s do it.’ I don’t know if [ABC] would ever do that.”

Dancing With the Stars has attracted some of the biggest names in show business and beyond — but some celebrities wouldn’t consider stepping foot into the ballroom. In a November 2025 interview for InStyle alongside his brother Nick Jonas, Kevin Jonas admitted to being a fan of the reality series — but added that he […]

Kimmel, 58, agreed that a season dedicated to the Kardashians was a “fantastic idea,” adding, “Of course they would do it. That’s a great idea!”

Kardashian then said, “I don’t know if they bring people back, but I’d do it.”
