Jordon Hudson made a quip about her relationship with Bill Belichick and the scrutiny it attracts as the couple attended the Kentucky Derby over the weekend.
The cheerleader, 25, and University of North Carolina coach, 74, made their debut at Churchill Downs this week when they put on a loved-up display at the Kentucky Oaks and the Kentucky Derby.
Hudson shared a photo to Instagram on Saturday documenting their experience at the annual racing extravaganza, showing the couple clasping hands as they waded through the muddy area near the track.
She seized the chance to playfully poke fun at her relationship with the legendary football coach with a reference to the controversy it has sparked.
‘Not the first time we’ve trudged through the mud together,’ she captioned the post with a nod to the highs and lows their romance has endured.
The couple’s relationship, specifically their 49-year age gap, has come under intense scrutiny since they began dating in 2024.

They first reportedly encountered each other on a flight from Boston to Florida in February 2021 when Belichick signed one of 25-year-old Hudson’s textbooks.
But when CBS Sunday Morning’s Tony Dokoupil dared to ask about their first meeting last year, he was met with Hudson’s fury in a now-infamous interview in April 2025.
It also emerged earlier that month that Hudson had been pleading with the University of North Carolina to censor social media comments about the couple’s relationship.
Shortly after, in July, the Daily Mail revealed that the university was facing a tidal wave of backlash from alumni, donors and faculty, who said the age-gap relationship is eclipsing Belichick’s coaching debut – and tarnishing UNC’s reputation.
While the headline-grabbing couple have drawn media attention since they went public in 2023, emails obtained through a public records request exposed the internal uproar over what critics had been calling a ‘disgrace’ and a ‘circus.’
Despite hiring the most successful NFL coach of all time, UNC failed to qualify for this season’s College Football Playoffs, with a defeat to NC State meaning they finished 4-8 and missed out on a bowl game for the first time since 2018.
Hudson has also failed to win over the iconic football coach’s family over the past two years, with his daughter-in-law Jen even confronting her publicly at a North Carolina game last season. Belichick’s friends have also reached out to express concerns over the level of ‘control’ Hudson is enjoying over him.
It’s claimed that Jen Belichick – who is married to Bill’s son, Steve – branded Hudson ‘bats*** crazy ‘ and accused her of ‘f***ing twisting’ the brain of her 74-year-old boyfriend. She also screamed that all Hudson ‘does is control s***,’ the New York Post reported.
