Police footage from Geno Smith’s third offseason run-in with police has surfaced after the veteran New York Jets quarterback was allegedly caught driving 25mph over the speed limit.
The 35-year-old Smith was pulled over on July 6 at around 11:20am for allegedly driving 70mph in a 45mph-zone. Footage from Smith’s interaction with police has been obtained by The Daily Mail.
‘All right, sir,’ the Davie, Florida officer said to Smith as he was seated in a silver 2025 Aston Martin along a grassy median. ‘Beautiful car. Seventy miles an hour, man, that’s too fast for 45.’
Smith explained the car actually belonged to his friend.
And when asked to provide his license, Smith said it was at his home nearby: ‘I live right here; my license and everything is in my house.’
The officer told Smith he’s required to have his license whenever he drives, to which the West Virginia University product replied: ‘My bad.’

Smith is back with the Jets for a second stint after they first acquired him in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He had a forgettable season with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2025
Smith received two citations: One for speeding and another for failing to have his license on him while driving.
His latest incident comes weeks after a video emerged on social media appearing to show a shirtless Smith arguing with a woman outside his mansion in Davie. In the clip, Smith can be heard saying ‘she just called the police.’
The woman filming responded furiously to Smith’s comment.
‘Geno just beat my a**, that’s why,’ she said. ‘You ran outside and attacked me, b****.’
The woman also made a series of bombshell allegations against him on Instagram: ‘Today is the DAY! GENO SMITH beat my a** cause he HATES taking care of his special needs kid and can’t be left alone with him because he’d rather watch s** online and play Call of Duty.’
Last month, Smith was questioned by officers for allegedly assaulting a woman at his property, but Davie Deputies now say they have now closed that inquiry without an arrest.

In a fresh twist, it has now emerged that Smith alleged that the woman attempted to steal $20 million worth of jewelry.
An incident report stated that Smith told police that he was in a shower on the date of the altercation when when he heard a commotion outside his home, according to TMZ.
He said that he discovered his son’s caretaker inside his residence without his consent. Smith explained that the woman is his employee and that, despite having casual sex, they are not involved in a romantic relationship or have any children together.
Smith told officers he was able to forcibly retrieve his personal jewelry from the woman, according to the incident report.
Previously, in April, Smith was pulled over for driving a Rolls Royce with the wrong tags.
The fallout from that traffic incident was also revealed in police body camera footage, which showed Smith being irritable with the officer.
‘I’ve got a lot of cars, fam,’ Smith said. ‘I probably switched the tag on the cars.’

Smith was mostly concerned about why the officer ran is plates in the first place.
‘But I’m saying, why’d you read my tag?’ Smith said. ‘You just wanted to? It’s a nice car and you just wanted to?’
When the officer explained his job is to run everyone’s tags, Smith told him to: ‘Do your job better.’
Ultimately, he was cited for attaching tag not assigned and another for failing to carry his license while driving.
